I'm wanting to hook up my zune to my wifes 03 xterra, and I think I'm on the right track, but just looking for some more info. She has a factory stereo, and her truck is the bottom of the line...like manual windows/locks, bare minimum.

I found some wired FM modulators that could work

being one of the better ones.

But I'm also checking out these aux input converters/P.I.E. units which seem to be a little better, but a little more expensive.
They also require a cd changer aux port.

Does anybody have any experiece with these, or should I just say fuck it and spend the extra cash and get a cheap radio with an aux port on the front?

any info will be greatful. We aren't about spending a shit load of cash, and it doesn't have to be a super professional system. Just something simple and effective is fine.

The wired FM mods are much better than the wireless ones. But nothing can beat direct a aux connection.

buy a new explorer, with sync... it kicks ass, but ruins the claim that sirius is better than xm for me... the sound quality of xm is insanely better, using the zune as a standard to judge by.

I have ALWAYS heard Sirius is better sound quality than XM. And agree with that.

you'd figure it was the case... but side by side, and compared to other sources... it sounds really compressed, and not very pleasant to the ears.

fm modulators always suck. Get an aux port.

The stock connectors are nice if don't want to upgrade any other part of the system. Some of them even allow you to control your ipod via your stock stereo which is ten-fold convenient. They're fairly easy to install aswell since it's just the 6-cd changer proprietary plug.
