In Tom Venutos Book he suggests accu-measure, which I found all over the net for like $24.99 with a myotape - here is link http://www.vitadigest.com/accumeasure-digital.html

Anyone have good success with this? I don't have access to do this at my gym. I am not looking for an exact 100% down to the tee number, just a ballpark, and to make sure I am losing fat not LBM

The Navy uses some formula that measures your neck and waste then plugs it into a formula and that gives your body fat. It has to be accurate since the Navy uses it, so i'd recommend that :mamoru:

    Cant.
BF measurements and techniques have such high percentage of error that it would be impossible to quote shit and have numbers to back it up.

    Really, the mirror > *.

Unless you get a skin fold test done by someone who knows what they are doing... yeah that's exactly right.

Skin fold isn't really all that accurate either

You could use any electric resistance fat measurer if you're not looking for exact percentages. They're consistant but remember that you have to be consistant state your body is in during measuring. ( meals, hydration... etc.)

Do what the rest of the world does.

    1. Measure with tape.
    2. Weigh then look in mirror
    3. See something different in mirror
    4. Quote some fucked up number of bf% that you probably arent at but really, who fucking cares because that numbers doesnt mean shit to anyone but you.
    5. Spread that number on as many forums as possible along with fuzzy photos of only your bicep or chest.
    6. profit.

That being said, im consistently a fucking stellar 5% bf year round bitches.

Is that the thing you hold out w/ 2 hands? I did that at the gym last week. First time was 13%. I did it again twice right after. 12% and 10%. Accurate.

The gold standard is the water tank thing. I think Ill just do the photosession mode. I tried my version of HIIT tonight. Hopefully doing this 4 weeks in a rowx 5days a week produces results i can see.

    15 seconds 100%
    45 seconds 70%
    repeat for 12 minutes.
then jog at 60% for 20 minutes
    cooldown walk for 5 minutes.

The only accurate way is to Have a DXA scan. Which is an x-ray machine that scans soft tissue and bone density to estimate your bodyfat %.

You could probally get one done under your insurance.

I was reffering to scales but those work. The batteries might have been dying too. Just a thought.

They have problems telling the difference between muscle and fat, again they're consistant. There are also some more expensive units that have different equations that take into account muscle, but they're consistant.
