...Instead, we sell these gift certificates for $8 dollars valued at $8 dollars...and since your total is $10, just buy 2 of these $8 certificates for $16 and we'll just keep your $6 here for you for next time...next time you spend 10 dollars, you'll only have to buy ONE $8 dollar certificate and then we'll hold on to the $4 for you. Eventually you might have a zero balance, but probably not! Thanks for shopping at Microsoft. KTHXBAI.

This is the idiotic logic of Microsoft and their stupid points system for the marketplace. Its not the money, its the stupidity. They should price things in amounts that you cannot buy...now its 500, 1000 or 2000 only?

    My balance was 100 points.
I went to buy a game that is 1200 points
    I can buy 1000 points..great now I only need 100 more....OOPS you can't buy 100...you can ONLY BUY 500.

So fucking stupid...good marketing strategy to get people to buy more shit but come on....just use real fucking dollars or sell these things in lots of "100". It's a total scam and its scamming people already paying them for the service. Have a little decency! Scum.

Not to mention the fact that the shit I bought won't even properly download.

I mentioned this in the Shadow Conspiracy post...my download has been stuck at 1%...just wont move. Tried canceling and restarting. Tried turning it off and restarting. Same shit.

Anyone ever run into an issue like this?

MS points are so stupid. I don't buy anything on XBL because of them. :hs: Just use real currency and make it simple.

They used to be sold right through xbox live in 400 increments. Its really ridiculous either way. The whole points thing was a dumb idea from the get go and they know it - its just too late to turn back and its an easy way to take advantage of the customer without being blatant.

Goddam I hate fucking mspoints. I was stuck at 170 for ever. What the fuck am I going to do with that? Spend some money on jpegs? Real world money for my virtual character? You can't buy a game with that shit. I had 970 points to buy a 1200 point game, can I buy a 230 point pack?? Fuck no!! Give us more money!!!
So I did the Axe scam and got 300 points:mamoru:. Now what the fuck do I do with 30 points? O hey we got these 320x320 avatars you can pay for!!

that's what I use now. They update it late but they usually got games on sale. Shadow Complex will probably debut at 800 for a short period.

MS points are awesome. Unlike real currency they can be discounted. Target has sales once to twice a year for points ($14 for 1600) which is basically 30% off everything you buy. :)

Getting discount on everything you buy is a pretty huge positive, lol. MS points create price parity across multiple regions too, at least for arcade games. There is another positive

The only really ridiculous thing about MS points is that you can't buy them in small increments like 400 points. That's probably my only complaint but other than that I don't have any major problems with it. :dunno:

Yeah we got your message....fucking relax....

How is 400 points any more convenient in this situation?
I still would have ended up with an unnecessary balance of points having to buy them in lots of 400. Plus as I already said...not even that long ago they were sold in batches of 400 right through the fucking xbox, its still stupid...that's not the point here and other people have brought up MUCH more relevant things. enlarging your font doesnt make anyone care any more about what you said in the first place.

The regional parity part is kinda funny actually because on PSN it never translates:mamoru: Europe always gets raped. Same with most hardware.

    400 + 400 + 400 = ???

And no I've had the 360 since launch. It's ALWAYS been increments of 500 through the xbox.

Zune.net is the best your going to get, login like your going to xbox.com go to account details or whatever and buy yourself some points you lazy prick.

Idiocy is the only reason you made this thread in the first place.

The reason Microsoft doesn't sell points in 80 point lots is because they'd get killed on credit card fees.

There is really no reason why they shouldn't allow credit card payments like they do on Games on Demand though.

    he wanted 1200 points right?

Hes bitching and moaning because he can't get the exact amount for a game. When he easily can.
