I've never ridden in one, but they seem to be great cars. I would try to get a new one since honda ended up extending the transmission warranty on some of the 2001's-2003's for problems with the transmissions. Check out www.carsdirect.com . Get it now while it's still cheap before the new 04's come out.

The tranny warranty is now covering 99-03. 7 years 70k miles.

I have an 03 and I love my car. The 04's are just but and not a big engine upgrade like we were all hoping for. 03 TL 260hp sohc 04 TL 270hp dohc.

can anyone tell me the difference between the standard 3.2 and the type s? i have raced both and seen neglible difference, perhaps it was the drivers?

on post, i appreciate the look of the car, it's a sporty sedan. haven't seen too many of them in the shop for work, which bodes well. haven't driven one, so i can't speak for the handling or feel of the car, but i would take one for a test drive if i was in the market for a new or newer sedan.

  8. Don't know if you want the specific differences, but...

    35HP (about 1/2 sec 0-60)
    Better/more aggressive handling
    16" vs 17" tires
    Slight interior differnce

  9. I believe the warranty goes to 100K miles.

thanks for the info, it was basically what i was looking for. wonder what they tweaked for the extra hp? stiffer suspension makes sense, i would have figured mebbe just that like the ws6. i've run a 3.2 or two (or three... ;)) and they haven't been dogs.

not sure what they were tweaking in the 03s but the 04 gets 270 hp but in cause some of you didnt kno its a detuned 300hp engine...so just wait a bit and there will be many aftermarket unlocking chips out...its a pretty sweet engine man

the acura TL is a great car. My parents own one and its a good looking car, nice interior, good motor with nice acceleration. It's a pretty good all around car for the price

For $20-22k I would look for a used GS300, IMO, it's better quality and rwd, and no tranny issues
