im refering to your grip during mostly back exercises or whichever other exercise you do and pull the weight....

    do you guys
--hold the bar/weight between the crease of your fingers and palm.....
--hold the bar/weight directly in the middle of your palm...

i find that holding it between your fingers and palm hurts less because there is less meat getting squished together?

The former hurts less but my grip sucks ass and with the latter I can pull more. Just gotta man up.

when doing any pulling i put the bar inbetween the very first joint on the fingers. and then squeeze. if i put it more in the palm of my hand and then squeeze/pull it pinches the skin and hurts like a bitch and sometimes tears.

Use straps, it'll let you get more reps in.

Usually works best for me, otherwise it starts to hurt :o

It seems like my grip is usually centered in the area where the palm meets the fingers... I have some hardcore callouses there.

I'm not sure. When I'm on my last set I find that my grip is about to give out and I just let it hang on my fingers. After that I won't be able to move my fingers for a couple minutes, though. I've been thinking about using straps. :hs:

I tend to do this on heavy lat pulldowns as well as deadlifts and RDL's..

On the matter of grip, can anyone hook DL for reps? I have no endurance whatsoever with it

yup....it takes some getting used to and the pain eventually goes away after the proper calluses are built up.

I dunno man, I've never had a problem gripping the bar with a hook grip fro reps. Are you using chalk?

    not allowed? by who?!?!

My school gym doesn't allow chalk either but I have always used it, just put a bag of it in your gym bag, reach in and chalk up.

No I do not mean I regrip, I am able to hold my grip for multiple reps.
