I had to go FOTR>ROTK>TTT.... When I first saw FOTR, I hadn't yet read the book, so by my then lack of knowledge of the story, I thought it was awesome. Also, it seemed to follow the books the most of all three. TTT, IMO, followed the book the least. So that's how I rank them.

I agree with WERUreo, FOTR>ROTK>TTT. TTT and ROTK were two action orientated while the first has more character development etc.

the death of borimir is the best part off all three movies IMO.

I like TTT, the scenes with theoden charging the wargs, and when he fights along side of his men at helms deep.

This is very hard. I cannot seperate the films. The whole two year wait to see all of them was an experiance. I did vote for ROTK because it moved me the most and was the end of such a great adventure!

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

    They're all GREAT.

But The Two Towers was a lot darker, the battle of Helms Deep was a little more dramatic (and I liked that).

ROTK had way to many gay drama moments involving frodo and sam.
    TTT would be my winner.

I liked the two towers. Not too much plot, less halflings, more funny stuff and trees killing shit.

Fellowship of the Ring. The other two were too much of a Legolas love-fest. Legolas does this, Legolas does that, Ooo look the pretty boy can surf down stairs on a shield and kill elephants like Luke Skywalker fighting an AT-AT.

Plus Gimli wasn't downgraded to pure comic relief in the first move. The first movie had Bean playing a great Boromir. There were no evil ghosts swarming everything like mutated scrubbing bubbles.

Yeah, I think that will do it for now. If I get spun up again I'll come back and vent some more.

  13. I don't know which is my favorite-I see it as one long movie in my head...

Either the first (where it all gets rolling) or the end (where everything gets tied up)

When I first saw it, I COULD NOT BELIEVE how much the movie looked exactly as I'd imagined it when I first read it as a kid. Also, the contrast between the beginning & the end: starts out with normal times and by the end of the movie you see how much change is coming on. Bean was cool. I like the group being together before the split too.
Best part was the Aragorn intro. I like that charactor as kind of dark and being a total bad ass taking on the 9.

ROTK was kind of flawed right at the start since they so conveniently dropped Sauromon (sp?) without even finishing that part up. That really disappointed me. It was the only issue I have with the 3 movies, it just wasn't consistent with how well they did the rest.
