After BT, what field did you get into? Did you fucking HATE it, or would you do it all over again cause of the value of it?

Yes I know I have three threads, all different topics though. :squint:

I'm what the Navy calls a (RP) Religious Program Specialist (Chaplain's Assistant)

    Service equivalent:
    Army - 56M
    Air Force - Chaplain Assistant
    Marines - RP

I also have a few NECs (Navy Enlisted Classification Codes)
    9588 - Ships Career Counselor
    2401 - Fleet Marine Force

    Also trained in intelligence photography.

If I had to do it all over again, I probably would join the CG.

But I wouldn't trade my travel experiences for anything.

I'm an MP. I've had some fun and good times in my job and I do enjoy it. However if I could do it all over again I would probably do something in computers or a little more technical.

    I was a Machinist's Mate (Nuclear Classified)

there is no equivalent in any of the other services as the Navy is the only service using Nuclear power.

Nuke MM's are responsible for the pumps, turbines, valves, air conditioning, water evaporator system, and propulsion system etc in the engine room and reactor compartment.

I also had a sub NEC for ships welder, in the submarine fleet we don't have room for a bunch of "useless" underway ratings so a lot of people are cross trained. In this case the Machinery Division is responsible for keeping 2 personnel on board who are trained welders who can perform "Emergency Underway repairs". Basically they need to be able to patch a pipe long enough to get back to port and have it ripped out by shipyard personnel:o.

I am a 3C271, and I push papers. Sometimes I push them to the left side of my desk, sometimes I push them to the right upper corner. Mostly though I push them off the right hand side into the garbage can. Soon, in October, my paper pushing will end. I wouldn't change anything I did.

3E433 environmental controller. Its pretty cool, except for the managing hazardous waste part. If I had to do it all over again, I'd def pick it.

I'm looking towards an officer slot in intel though.

11b but I'm in the process of reclassing to 19D

Not too happy about it, but I'll take the extra mos for now.

After going to the recruiter for the USAF, I was given a few jobs that were available for enlistments. Do any of you have any personal experience with these, good/bad? I'm looking to do something like Networking, so it can be beneficial if/when I get out.

    3C0X1 - Computer Systems Ops
    3C0X2 - Computer Systems Programming
    3C3X1 - Computer Systems Planning & Implementation (G-65)*

    * - Don't know what that means specifically.

If you want networking, go for 3C0X1. It is the only one that even remotely deals with networking.

If you want a cushy job where you drink coffee and surf the internet all day, go for 3C3X1 (PIMP)

G-65 means you need a minimum of 65 on your (G) (general?) score of the ASVAB.

Programmers are weird and unless you already like programming, stay away.
