Wow that dude is going to make $$$. Even still those guys in DC would be all too happy to pay.

I remember when the OLL AR lowers first hit the scene in CA. There were a limited amount of FFL's willing to take the risk even though it was completely legit.

All the willing FFL's had lines out the doors and hired extra help. They would have a guy whose sole job was to take your DL and photo copy it. Then another couple of guys to start you on the paper work. The regular guys ran the NIC/DROS and check to make sure all the paper work was in order. It was crazy. I bet the DC guy is going to have to do something similar.

I don't think DC has any of that DROS/fees nonsense though, I think this guy is looking at pure profit for paperwork.

*shrug* theres one here that is 135 for a transfer. Who knows how many people use them or if they just have a high price cause they don't like to do them.

Get em for 10 bucks though :bigthumb:

There are still all sorts of licence fees you have to pay as a FFL holder. Again if he is a one man shop he is going to have to hire several people to help him with the mad rush he is about to get hit with.

If he charged $35 per transfer he would not break even. Figure each transfer takes 20 minutes if you have your act together and hustle. Get a dumb shit customer you have to hold his hand the whole way and it can easily be 40 minutes per transfer. Also this is not something you want to do half ass as it will get you up to your eyeballs in hot water.

I'm not saying there aren't costs associated with being an FFL, I'm just saying I don't believe there are any governmentally imposed fees on transfers in DC. I may be wrong, I don't know. :dunno:

20 minutes for a transfer in CA? :weak: That's bananas, how many forms you guys got?

It should be noted that he's not out to fuck anyone with this, he's just been the only FFL for security firms and police for some time in DC.
