It is entertaining, but in a dumb way. Like The Fast and the Furious.

It made me sick to my stomach, I hated it. Especially cause I was watching it with one of my students (10 year old kid, I was babysitting him), and he totally ate up every bit of it. The last thing I want is for that kid to start behaving like that or think it's cool.

but it is cool, it should be every kid's dream to operate an underground fight ring at highschool parties.

I loved it. It was stupid and silly, but it was just a movie and more plausible than that melancholy dream sequence called redbelt.

It was PG-13 for a reason.

It was basically a modern retelling of The Karate Kid.

the bad father that makes his son and his friends drink cocktails was the best part

they should of had a part where he fought Kongo just like in The Karate Kid

no it isnt. karate kid wasnt pure and utter promotion of violence and letting your anger control you.

what you dont see at the end of never back down is that the hero broke his foot in that parking lot fight and had to have surgery on it to have pins inserted into it. him and the blonde girl have now broken up and he's sleeping on her couch shooting vids of himself to post on the internet about how much his life sucks. :wiggle:

movies are the poetry, literature, and art/painting/sculpture of our time all rolled into one. they are the greatest medium we have of communicating culture to the masses. millions of dollars are spent to produce them and even more is spent to experience them. i think it makes plenty of sense to scrutinize them.
