I tried to decide on my own, and I cant. I love features from both cams: like for instance Canon has that pop up screen so I can take pics of hard angles, but the Sony is a lot smaller and has that lithium rechargble battery (btw is it true these batteries last about 300 pics?) So help me out folks...

Can't speak for the Canon (we have some A75's though and they can't compare to my W1), but I have a W1 and like it a lot (not love, but great for the money/size). The Sony takes AA batteries so you can get emergency ones anywhere. I think the batteries have lasted me around 150 pics on average but I use the LCD constantly (2.5"!) and often. Size was a major concern for me coming from a Fuji S602 for my active, growing family. The illuminator kicks butt and can take pics in total darkness. Biggest downsides -- not enough adjustments (naturally) and red eye is always a concern (red-eye mode flashes too many times with too much delay). Both are good cameras though.
