Nope. RAM and HDD are 2 things a user can upgrade w/o voiding warranty.

Yeah the MBP update isn't all that great. I was hoping to get one, but I'll just stick with my macbook and 20" imac. It gets the job done.

Ahh. I know for the MB it's super easy to upgrade the HDD.

Should have just waited til June when the new mobile processors come out and would have had speeds up to 3GHz with 1000MHz FSB instead of this stupidly small upgrade. Now we'll have to wait another 6 months instead.

i think as long as you take it to an apple certified repair place it doesnt void your warranty. i did this and it cost me like $35 for the install. worth keeping my warranty over.

So when is the next MacBook Pro update expected? Is it going to be a complete overhaul? Cause I might as well just wait for that, I don't need a laptop yet.

Usually every 6 months. No one can say if it'll be a complete overhaul (and no one know for sure til they're released). Most likely just faster processors, maybe SSD, larger video cards standard, and bigger hard drives if there are new ones around by then. I don't personally see them moving away from the current design any time soon.

Well here's to hoping for a Montevina update sometime in August. Doesn't Apple usually have a conference in August too?

WWDC is between June and August. Sounds like June is likely this year.
