It didn't come with an opener, and there doesn't seem to be a pull tab anywhere on it. Kinda don't want to go punching holes in it, unless I have to.

I have a million of those spam can openers if you want one. Other option is using a dremel or I've seen a friend use an angle grinder and just take off the whole top until the lid came off.

Take a point blank shot at it with a 12ga, just remember to only knick the tip of the can. :big grin:

Will a regular can opener work?

Included can-openers for those things look like a heavy-duty, scaled up P-38. Hook one side on the rim, then pull up to cut a swath, wash rinse repeat.

throw it out of your car doing 63mph.

any faster/slower and they'll go flying all over or it wont open.

    can opener ftw.

I found it easiest to keep sliding the opener forward after cutting down. Lets you get every thing but the corners easy as fuck :o

Oh fuck deja vu, same thing happened to me when some surplus 8mm ammunition came in the mail. I think eventually i just used the can opener on my swiss army knife, but it took a long ass time.

i realized why i got such a good deal on the ammo when i tried to open the package. i envisioned cleanly opening the top, and being able to keep the ammo in the can. instead, i broke 4 cutoff wheels to get like 2 inches cut. i ended up cutting along the side and ripping pieces of metal off with pliers. if you have a pneumatic grinder, it would be a cinch to just take the rim off the can. next time im going to wait to use my dads tools and just do it like that.

just get a regular ammo can canopener, it takes like 5 minutes tops for a lid. I did mine in like 3 minutes.

At least it never hurt... super sharp edge sliced right through my leg like butter. Didn't feel a thing when I cleaned it up with an alcohol pad either. :dunno:

Yick! Furner makes a good point, I have a high speed cut-off tool that is powered by my air compressor, I'm gonna use that. Then I'm going to put all the ammo in one of the many ammo boxes I have, cause I don't want to chop my leg off.
