Anybody see it on the news? My girl is worried about it since she's been taking them for 5 years :noes: She loves (no sideeffects) them but this lawsuit got her worried, so she'll be talking with her doctor tomorrow but I'm wondering what does OT think about it...

Are there any alternatives pills as good as Yaz?

I've been on it 6+ years, though a year ago when the whole recall thing started all pharmacists started giving girls the generic, Ocella.

    So first, calm down.
Second, ask your girl to check the pill label in case it is Ocella and she somehow didn't realize.
Thirdly, have her talk to her Gyno about other options.
Finally, if you want to be careful then suck it up and use condoms until she's on a new BC long enough for it to kick in.

Why would giving girls the generic make anything better? It's the same drug only cheaper...

The girlfriend re-started Yaz yesterday.. is there something that should prevent her from getting back on it?

google "yaz recall." I found a few. Generic vs. brand is the exact same because the ingredient in yaz that's supposed to help PMDD is the one they think is to blame, and the generic probably has it. Pretty sure Yasmin has that same active ingredient.

I got off Yaz awhile ago because I never stopped getting break through bleeding but around the same time I was getting very, very weird bloodwork back. I've been on a new BC for like 2 months so I'm going to re-test now...so I'm actually hoping Yaz was the cause of my weird bloodwork.

where is the credible sources. all i see is a bunch of free host BS and no real credible sources on what is actually going on with it. I think a call to the manufacturer would be a bunch of smoke and mirrors.

They did change their commercials recently though to take out the part that said it can treat moderate PMS. In the new commercials it says it only treats PMDD.

well the ingredient they put in there to treat PMDD must be active. I don't really know anything about pharmecueticals though.

And it would be a pretty good bet that generic vs. brand wouldn't cause side effects because the non-active ingredients they put in meds normally don't effect a person.

It is different with every female.

My opinion, it's a piece of living dick. Wife now suffers from tearing and bleeding every time we have sex and her natural lubricating system basically doesn't work. Didn't do this on her last BC. :madfawk:
