I am thinking of getting this to replace my gerber LST I lost recently.

The best price I have found for a black handle, combo edge 556 is at smokesigns...$56 including shipping.

    http://store.yahoo.com/sarsam/bemiknwithbl1.html

They also have the black handle, combo edge 556, with the black coating for a little more but I figure I'm spending enough as it is and I'll never really use the teflon or BT or whatever it is anyways.

Anyone know anywhere else with a better price?

More importantly is this a good knife?

I wanted a sub 3 with some sort of decent clip for my pocket (the loosening up of the plastic clip on the LST is what made me lose it when I was hauling spar pulls and I guess something brushed up against my leg...) and from a decent company.
Other choices seemed to fall down to some sort of buck but I figured $20 extra for a real knife...

I passed over the mini ambush cause it was made in taiwan, etc...I know its a good knife but I'd jsut rather just get a Blue class benchmade.

    What do you think?

Check out the Spyerco Endura, I have the stainless version, but the FRN handled one is great too, really light and the blade steel is awesome, it's VG-10. But Benchmade makes a good knife too, but I would rather have the Delica.

Huh? I love my full size Grips, and the mini's are nice as they have full length liners. Also the axis lock is about as good as you can get. FWIW the SOG Flash's I looked at a while back felt cheap, they seemed to have a fair amount of blade play, did I just pickup a dud?

I really like mine. There's a big difference between the plastic and aluminum handles though, IMHO.

what is with this, every other week or so it seems like someone digs up something from years ago for no real reason.
