so I bought a glock 34. I figured I would shoot it for a couple IDPA matches, and then hit it with the mod hammer.

Well, I got a LEO/MIL blue label glock, as I'm in the military and its a pretty sweet discount.

I thought all 34s come with a 4.5 pound trigger. I thought it was weird when it felt literally exactly the same as my totally stock G19 and its 5.5 pound trigger. figured it just needed to be broken in a bit or something. then I noticed this on the box-

it clearly says 5.5LB. I guess its a LEO thing.

so I've decided to rectify this shit immediately. this is going to be a game gun, mostly IDPA SSP.

    so I'm thinking either http://www.glockwarehouse.com/Standard_Complete_Trigger_Kit_p/zt-std-c.htm

    or http://www.glockwarehouse.com/Standard_Deluxe_Kit_p/zt-std-d.htm

I'll probably go with the latter. and of course the competition spring kit.

I'm going to run the trij night sights it came with for now I think. later I'll put them on my 19, and then??

anything else I should do yar? which striker does the deluxe kit come with?

I know IDPA rules are a bit different than USPSA but I'm not sure if that trigger kit would be SSP legal. I know it's not legal for Production.

I know what it says. I had some doubts since a trigger, by the rules, is considered an external modification and because of two holes on one of the sides of the trigger it makes it "externally visible"

I emailed high res pics to John Amidon and he stated, as per the revised production rules, it would not be legal.

Unless they have changed the trigger and it now looks identical to the factory glock trigger, it wouldn't be production legal.

eta: I might be (and hope I am) wrong. Yar? Have you had recent verification from Amidon? I'd like to be able to put it in m gun but I don't want to take any chances.

I'll check mine when I get home. I swear I remembered reading that the blue labels all came with a standard connector instead of the "-" one. Could be wrong though. I have a red label at home that I'll look at.

We submitted our standard trigger to Robert Ray at IDPA headquarters and he and a pannel of idpa guys ruled it as legal. Our trigger has been used at state and national matches and nobody has been popped.

we submitted the standard trigger to john amidon and they had a special session to make a ruling for production. According to john they built several G17's, one with out trigger. Then they tried to figure which is which. Which they said they couldn't.

Look this is how it really goes down but don't let this go out. We ask if our stuff is legal and submit a sample trigger. They rule it is legal. We then buy a full page ad in their magazine every month.

Do you have a copy of this correspondence? I'd like to put the trigger back in my gun but I'd like somethign to show if I get called on it at a match. I know the chances are less than 1% but it'd be my luck...

    That's what I went for.

  23. Same here. My 29 (soon to be Sqwirl's) has the race connector in it. It's great. I ordered another one this afternoon for the 34.
