This is my first real foray into HDR; 10 exposures -5 to +5 stops then combined in CS3.

Amazing day on the Oregon Coast ~60 degrees, sunny, and best of all no wind.

Damn, I like. I don't like those HDRs where it's over-blown. It just looks like someone messed up. But this is just right...looks like what my eye would see. Very cool.

that seems quite nice, you should have unbolted that railing first

I wonder if 10 exposures was really necessary, could it have been done with about three?

motion blur in the clouds, blown out sky and no detail in that middle piece of ground on the left....HDR didn't help you out much. Honestly it doesn't look much different than a single image.

im not sure if HDR was totally necessary; i might try it again with different exposures and fewer. but, this is also the best one i have ever done that could also be because i converted RAW straight to PSD, or CS3 is a lot better at this.

It doesn't look like it's been tone mapped yet. You should try programs like Photomatix or Artizen HDR. They do alot more eye popping HDR images. I've been experimenting with HDR myself in my room since the weather has been so abysmal:

Here is one i just did with Photomatrix; the sky certainly looks a lot nicer and i was able to pull more detail out of the grass.

    Haha, yeah, now that's HDR.

By the way, did you buy photomatix, or do you know of a cracked version/CD key gen? I've been looking, but all I have is the trial version.

    :mamoru:

I've never heard of the program at all, you could tell me it's called Photodicksucker 5.0 and I'd believe you. Whatever it is, looks like a good investment.

What's it run? I'm too lazy to use Google.

When I read HDR, I was tempted to not even click the link. I fucking hate HDR, BUT, you actually did a nice job with it. I really hate that cheesy overdone bullshit.

:werd: I agree. This lighthouse doesn't look overdone and unrealistic like so many HDR photos that I see
