so are they better, worse, or about the same as CMMG. or bushmaster. or doublestar.

going back to the fun show with a buddy of mine tomorrow to potentially help him finish his AR. he just needs the upper. they had some yankee hill machine uppers today for an ok price.

he has a CMMG mid-length on order per my recommendation, but does not want to wait the 2345324523 weeks for it to finish. so he is thinking of canceling it if he finds something roughly equivalent in price and that I say is roughly equivalent in quality.

i know the cmmg will have a 1:7 twist, and all the YHM uppers today had a 1:9 twist, but he'll just be shooting bulk 55 grain stuff with his el cheapo red dot/irons inside 100 yards for fun.

they also had some "DCR" uppers there that looked good and were fairly inexpensive, but I hadn't heard of DCR before. when I got home and googled it i realized DCR = doublerstar and sort of did a .....:ugh:

so, lets take a pretend selection of complete uppers from say

    CMMG
    yankee hill machine
    bushmaster
    rock river arms
    doublerstar
    stag

and rank them. is there really much difference between them?

what do you think he should do?

most things aren't, they sell out before they ever make it on the website. for instance you can order centurion .223 and get it in a week, but you'll never see it on the site.
