yaboot booting mac from a firewire drive?

    has anyone been able to get yaboot to boot macosx off a firewire drive?

    out of curiosity what are you using yaboot for... I haven't touched that since I installed LinuxPPC on a 233MHz iMac, back in 2000/2001 :embd:

    dunno...seems to be what debian and yellowdog use...

    no idea what yaboot is. but once in awhile i boot 10.3.9 from my firewire drive. but i used carbon copy cloner to make a full bootable backup.

    :werd: it's the most friendly "New World" bootloader

    IIRC you might actually have to do some OpenFirmware hacking to get the machine to take from a FW disk though. Just a thought, like I said I haven't done this in years. If Linuxppc.com is still around, I found it to be a great resource in general. :dunno:

    Ironically though I used the LinuxPPC info / tools, it was Debian that I ended up installing on the iMac :coold:
