this has probably been answered but i searched and even searched sharkyforums.com and could find what i was looking for. i have two hd's, one with all of my videos and music and all that stuff. now i want to upgrade to xp pro and am wondering if xp will recognize the files. i know xp uses ntfs and 98 uses fat32 correct? i remember some oter saying they upgraded to xp and it showed their other drive in a raw format and i don't want this to happen to me. any help would be much apreciated :)

XP can read both fat32 and NTFS. So it shouldn't be a problem at all. I used to run XP on a 3 partition setup with 1 of the partitions formatted in FAT32 with no problems.

As long as you install XP on a seperate drive, the data on the other drive should be safe.
