I must have somehow deleted the XP volume control, and now can't figure out how to get it back.

    Any ideas ?!

    Thanks for any help.

Go into the control panel -> sound settings and somewhere in there will be a checkbox for "show volume in taskbar" or something like that.

"Windows cannot display the volume control icon on the taskbar because the Volume Control program has not been installed. To install it use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel."

I've done this and cannot find the Volume Control anywhere.

It seems like my file SndVol32.exe is missing.

Thanks Ractoon, any other ideas ?

Hmm, could run the XP CD system repair and see if it catches that. What kind of soundcard are you using? Did you install the software that came with it? Did the volume control just disappear one day or were you doing something before it did?

I can't find any of my windows CDs or I would. I think I deleted it on accident a while back, and have just gotten around to needing it. If someone sent me a copy of SndVol32.exe, could I just place it in its intended folder and see what happens ?
