My computer is unable to be shutdown. It is like it is ignoring the command.

i am able to turn it off by the shut off button, but i do not want to do that as it is an improper shutdown. i have tried Ctrl+ALT+DEL with no success, start->turn off computer->turn off., with no success, restart, everything.

Also, if i do turn it off with the button, and then turn it back on, i get an error upon startup: " is not a valid integer.

what is goin on? i tried calling a tech line, but they wanted to charge me $2 per minute. fuck that.
