Xp Pro vs Home

    i thought the big deal was that pro came with office, but recently i learned that isnt true, so whats the big difference that lets them charge 30$ more

    pro is able to join corporate domains, accept remote desktop connections, advanced networking. just to name a few

    Pro can also take advantage of NTFS security features. Home doesn't have crap in the way of said features.

    In home edition the more advanced NTFS permissions can accessed in safe mode or through cacls at the command prompt. But that is pretty inconvenient.

    If you want to control access to folders other than my documents go with pro.
