So I got bored and wanted to see how XMBC would look on my 2.33 C2D MBP. Well, I dunno if I need new codecs or my laptop is messed up but here is a screen shot of a movie being played in XBMC

and this happens with every movie.

This is what it XMBC looked like before the movie loaded

Can anyone tell me what is wrong and how I can fix this?

The image is of a screen shot of the movie being played. The colors are all messed up but the movie is playing.

Tried it-- got the same video/coloring problem.

I have had perian since 2007.

could it be something else? Maybe there is some configuration to a Mac that i never knew about.

    ------

Also, Sorry its XBMC not XMBC... anyways-- if you guys want better screen shots I can try to take better ones.

I use Boxee and have never had to change any settings. I installed Perian and everything plays nice. Try Plex, VLC, Quicktime. Do they play fine in those players?

They are all .avi files. They play fine in QT and VLC. I'll try Plex in a bit.

Thing is Boxee and XBMC play the videos with good sound, it'd just that the video is so discolored. I have no idea why this happens in XBMC/Boxee and not in VLC/QT.

I'm at work, but let me check my settings when I get home. I'll see how my display settings are configured.

Do you have lots of data on it? Wipe it clean and re-install OS X.

Try downloading Onyx and run some cleanups. Maybe something is f'd up.
