So im designing a website for the company i work for, and I was talking to the owner, he uses excel for most of his ordering, so i was wondering if there is a way to create an formmail form that the output would be in an xls document, or of some variation that it would be imported into an xls document easily without retyping all of the order fields?

PHP or Perl both have libraries that allow you to both read and write to an excel file. But I would write all the entries to a database, and let your boss use a form on a website to produce the excel document that he needs.

I would second this advice. If you need the code to do this, I think I have a simple script that runs a query and outputs the results to an excel doc. You could probably tweak it from there.

    example here: http://test.centerofthestorm.com/erich/xlstest.php

you won't see anything but an excel sheet downloading, but it pulled the results from a db.
