GUN XD9 subcompact or Smith & Wesson M&P compact

    I like the M&P - never tried the compact though. The adjustable backstrap is a pretty nice feature too.

    If I had to pick between the two I'd say the S&W just because you can actually buy parts for them. Last I heard Springfield was of the opinion that if something breaks or needs to be replaced you have to send them the whole damn gun. I heard that is supposed to be changing but afaik its never happened.

    I have a full size M&P9, it is quite nice. I shot an XD 40 a while back, and it was nice, but I like the way the grip is designed better on the M&P.

    Between those two I'd say the M&P.. that is if you can find a compact one.

    I said fuck it an bought a Walther p22 instead. I desided to go to a cheaper gun for plinking. $310 new, which was $50 cheaper than any other place in Fresno.

    M&P and my store out here has the compacts in stock now and they're under $500...
