Are there any chips that I can manually add without paying a shop to my xbox that will allow it to save some games onto the hardrive so a cd is not necessary?

the 2.3b lite+ is a very easy modchip to install, I just installed one for a friend a few hours ago. Only real problem with a no solder modchip is that it can become disaligned, then you have to open the xbox up and realign it. If you suck at soldering or just don't wanna risk it, a no solder modchip is your best choice.

ya, I modded my xbox and it is the coolest thing i have ever done. It was also the hardest thing i have ever done. It was easy to put in the solderless chip (2.3 lite+), but it was a huge pain in the ass to find all the software needed (bios and new OS) and get them correctly burned to a CD that the xbox can read. It does take a long time and is pretty hard to do it ALL yourself, but it is definitely worth it. Also, after you put in the chip, you are gonna want to put in a bigger HD to be able to have a lot of games to play off it. I put a 120 gig in mine and have about 20 games on now and still have 80 gigs left. If you decide to do it, there are many helpful tutorials and people online to guide you through.
