i'm working on a project building a web application using mysql php and XAMPP web server. problem is that I need to show my project to the class and don't know how to do it. is it possible for me to connect to my computer from outside computers through IE? if not, how do i go about solving this problem?

Host the project online somewhere and show the project through the internet. Or, install web services on your laptop or harddrive and present the project off that.

isn't XAMPP just apache + php + mysql all bundled together? Bring your laptop to class, turn on apache, and browse to http://localhost

i think he means that he wants other comps to connect to his site. i guess all you'd have to do is give everyone your LAN ip and have them surf to your site.

Yah. the problem is I don't have a labtop or webhosting. My last resort would to either buy webhosting or beg a friend for his labtop.

What I was wondering was if it was possible for outside computers to connect to my computer that has XAMPP and my project on it. typing my IP address in other computers did not work.

Or if you guys know any free webhosting sites that support php or mysql

What school do you attend that does not provide web hosting for their students?

My school provides hosting, but no PHP/sql/etc. In CS we can use Oracle as long as we're taking a DB course at the time, but still no PHP.

Take your laptop to class. Connect on the network. Grab your IP Address. Have everyone who you want to connect change their host file.
