I haven't seen it, but I have seen the rubber guard being used more effectively in the last year

nate marquart (or however you spell it) uses like a double X guard in one of his ufc fights to sweep his opponent. I think it can be done if you are smart about it, but then again its also probably better to have crazy strong takedowns/takedown defense.

I use it a lot in sparring and not against chumps, but I have long legs and go straight to a sweep or kneebar. You don't want to stop. As soon as you get in, extend and off-balance.

It's been working if I can get them in X-guard.

Do you have any screencaps between these two? I can't quite tell if he has the double xguard or not.

It looks like a tripod sweep, but he's grabbing the wrong ankle.

I know it as same grip with arm, but both feet have the same hook so both knees are in front of his body instead of just one. Both legs are spread apart with tension like butterfly guard. If your knees come together you're screwed.

x-guard by definition is when you have both hooks on the same leg :ugh:

That's the plan sir. And I'm going to san fransisco for 73. If you can make it to the area, I've got some very cool things going on that weekend so let me know and I'll have you come.
