wtf vmware question

    ok we are profiling this system here at work

    they have a SQL Server sitting on a vm. the stored procedure is loading data into a temp table. now, when the data is loaded into a disk temp table, it is FASTER than a in memory temp table...

    is this due to some way that VMWare handles memory? there is no way that in memory temp tables should be slower than disk based temp tables... esp since it only loads ~2500 integers into the temp table
