WTF my superdrive wont eject the disc

    My macbook is trying to read a DVD and it wont friggin eject. Are there any programs that force the ejection?

    try this, open your terminal and type in "hdiutil eject " then drag the DVD icon from the desktop into the terminal then hit enter

    damn that sucks. sorry about that. you could try restarting and hitting the eject button a few times while it's starting up

    phew finally it ejected, I thought the damn disc was gonna melt. Thanks for trying to help.

    TIP: Reboot while holding down mouse button; disc tray will open.

    my macbook's superdrive has a hard time ejecting these dvdrs i bought. i'm not sure what brand they are, they are unbranded silver top ones. not super cheap crap, i haven't burnt a coaster with them

    however, i need to tilt my macbook to the side when i hit eject for it to come out...only then does it slowly make it's way out of the drive. i kinda struggles. i'm guessing i will break the super drive in a year, so applecare will be getting a call at that time

    I had to do the business card trick to mine a couple months ago. You stick the card into the slot to apply pressure so that it ejects or some crap, it worked, hah.

    so, do you apply the pressure on the top or the bottom of the cd?
