I've been trying to curl large weights recently and my forearms start to get sharp jabs of pain whenever i drop the weights.
It doesnt hurt while I'm lifting only after.

Wtf is the deal here, do I need to build my forearms up more to keep up with the rest of my arms or is my technique wrong?

The bar is just flat not wavey like most of the bicep ones at the gym could that contribute to the excess pressure placed on my forearms?

I used to have that same pain. It stopped after a while. I guess it will go away after a while

You got it right with the last sentence. The bent bars ease some of the pain, though not all, for me at least. So does using dumbells since you have the freedom to rotate your forearms. However, I've read that the straight barbell isolates your bicep more than the bent bar, which allows you recruit your forearms during the lift as well.

Use an EZ bar. I fucked up my forearm bad by showing the guys how i could curl 100 on a strait bar with about the worst form you can imagine. It was in highschool and it hurt me for years.

nothing really keeps the pain away for me... but straight bars hurt a lot, curl bars not as much.

If you are performing this movement within the confines of the squat rack then it is God himself who is striking down upon thee :noes:

I get the same thing with barbell curls... even with EZ curl bar.

I do bicep curls sitting with my elbow planted onto my knee and my torso facing the side opposite of the arm that's curling (say I'm doing left bicep... put left elbow on left knee or closer if you want, try to face your right side, curl away)
