WTF Macbook Pro idle temps? V. Mine is @ 184°F running Camino

    Out of my mind, brb never.
    This shit is seriously getting annoying. My fans are running above 5500rpms and my CPU is stays ~170-180°F with only a few apps open. WHY? Do I need to do the fucking heatsink paste application? Could dust be the culprit?

    :dunno: mine is penryn and @ 100F plugged in & browsing with safari on my bed fans at 2000.

    check whats using your cpu?

    First generation CD 2.16GHz MPB.

    EDIT: Now after restart, the computer is running at 117F with the fans running at 3800rpms. Im still running the same programs, but I had not restarted in awhile. Could that have anything to do with it?

    Could have had some background process locked up sucking CPU.
