Went to a gun shop in town today to do some looking around.. pricing is fucking ridiculous nowadays..

    - Two SKSes on the rack that the guy wanted $550 and $575 for.. no obvious reason for the $25 increase on the one.

    - Egyptian AK-47 with wood furniture for $475 (stripped furniture with nasty gouges in it).. and another with a beat all to hell thumb stock that was Russian made (according to the guy) that was $750.

    - SPAS 12 for $1500. Also beat on, scratched up, and banged on in general.

    - Mossberg 500 with ghost ring sites for $700.

    WHAT. THE. FUCK. :ugh:

Like I've mentioned in other threads, the ONLY good gun store in town has now closed, and this shit is what I'm left to work with.

    Absolutely disgusting..

My local ones are all overpriced...i shop online, play around at the store/rent at range if need be, then transfer to FFL. I would like to support the local, but not when the prices are $100-$150 more.

I thought my shops were bad. I've seen a couple $400 chinese SKS's and beat to shit $500 ak's though.

One of the few local shops I still goto has a rack of yugo SKS's ranging from $179-279 I've looked them over and they're all the same shape same beat up ones that use to go for $79 when yugo's first hit the U.S.

Welcome to my world, use to have one GREAT shop here could get a deal on anything I wanted and ammo prices the same as mailorder the ATF fucked them and took their FFL away. Now I have to mailorder all my ammo, occasionally i can get a deal on a handgun, any sort of evil rifles I have to a transfer on.

$550 for an SKS? I know the Russian ones are more but at that price you can just get one of those Bargin Bin AR's or an AK for even less :ugh2:

:dunno: all the local shops here cater to the bubba hunting crowd. i was in one last year and they did have 2 mosin nagant M44's and 2 SKS's on the racks, but I didn't even ask the prices because with my C&R FFL I can buy them online cheaper. gun shops are only good for 01 transfers. other then that i mail order everything i can

I wasn't trying to imply that they weren't, they're just an unknown to me so I want a first hand review.

Nope. Local gun store called Carter's Shooting Supply.

Sportsman's Warehouse is also ridiculously limited and ridiculously priced.

I looked around and found alot of positive reviews.. like it says, they won't win any beauty contests, but they shoot.

Sounds good to me.. I'm about 99% certain I'm going to buy one.

This dude has no personality.. I'm completely disillusioned with the offerings in my area now.

Sportsman's Warehouse you have to wait usually 20-30 minutes for someone to even ask you if they can help you with anything.. and then they do nothing more than hand over a gun and let you check it out. I also handled about 5 different shotguns, but then when I asked the guy to see an AR they had, he asks to see my ID. :ugh:

Needless to say, I just walked out.
