I got an industrial in February and all was well, until now. There is a bump where the piercing is, the inner ear. Is that an infection? Result of improper cleaning? Does this call for sea salt soaks?

looks like infection to me. bacteria has a way of sneaking in like that. clean it up good, and keep after it, and if it gets worse go see a doc.

salt water soaks, lots of em.
neosporin on it at night may help too.
that, and time. I've always gotten a bump like that, every cartilage piercing I have. It goes away eventually, just keep at it.

its NOT a keloid. its hypertrophic scarring, its very common with cartiledge piercings, just do sea salt soaks or boil a chamomile tea bag, let it cool down then use it as a compress on your ear, it will clear it right up

yeh, a keloid is just scar tissue. what he has is definitely inflamed/infected.

what he has is definitely NOT an infection. there is barely any redness there, by the looks of the picture there is no dark discharge coming from the piercing and there is no swelling.

    :wtc: yep, your screwed buddy

But seriously, from the picture it's just inflamed. Get some antiseptic and give it a few days.
