I usually have retail and health related jobs, today i have an interview at an energy company, the human resource lady said dress in business casual.

I've got on a black polo shirt w/ white emblem + white undershirt, khakis, black belt + black dress shoes.

Not if HR tells you business casual. I was told business casual for my interview and just wore a suit with a tie.

If you are not told then assume suit. If you are told then follow directions.

If you can't follow the directions "that whore" gives you it makes a statement of insubordination to the company you're trying to impress.

Right on....button down shirt, nice slacks, leather shoes, and a blazer. That's the "true" meaning of business casual. It later gets interpreted as slacks and a polo shirt.
