Yeah, and a lot of the higher velocity 9mm too... they're really not as impressive as they are made out to be.

I've been wanting a five-seven and a PS90 for a while now. I know I know... if I shoot you and you find out about it you'll be pissed... blah blah blah (old 5-7 hater joke). I still want them. Damn... I don't have a couple grand to drop on guns in case they ban 'em...

One thing I've always been curious about - do they reimburse you for seized weapons that were legally purchased? I mean, I can understand yanking stuff that was illegal from day 1, but if you buy a gun, the laws change, and they seize it - are they obligated to reimburse you? Or is it a complete "fuck you, you're lucky you ain't going to jail!" bit.

And, if so, what benefit is there is handing over your weapon?

If it became illegal to own somehow, it wouldn't matter if it was legal when you purchased it. You'd be breaking the law.

It'd be a hell of a time flat out making a type of gun illegal though, hence the whole manufacturing/import ban, registration/tax , no new purchases schemes we've been seeing since at least 1934 that normally allow grandfather clauses for current owners. As long as you register, comrade!`
