My Lite On is fucking up already. It burns perfectly, but reading it ... :ugh: Keep crashing the system.

Any recommendations for an alternative? I was going to get an NEC but I'm worried :noes:

If you get an NEC leave some feedback if it's any good, i got my eye on the Pioneer 109 i think that's the model, just looking to get a writer with DL -R capability in the future just looking ahead that's all, i own Sony burners, i know there not the best rated, but in my experience they hold their own, depends i guess what you do with the writers

I've had HP burners before. They were awesome but they require so much crap to be installed with it, such system hogs.

I know most of you guys are gonna bitch... but I have no complaints with my Sony burner. I currently have the 4x DRU-500AX, but when I upgrade, I wont hesitate to get the new 16x DL one they have out. Yea it's a few more bucks, but it's well worth it for a reliable burner.

Are these quiet when reading? Mine sounds like a jet engine when reading CDs.
