Wtf, am i too retarded for shrugs?

    So i'm just chilling and doing my shrugs and the friend thats working out with me tells me i shouldn't curl my arms when i do them, like an upright row. I was using 245 so i drop the weight and i still couldn't get it right, i was still doing it with like 135. Am i too retarded for shrugs, wtf :ugh2:

    My understanding was to keep your shoulders back ,arms straight and don't move shit except your shoulders. Sounds like you have your shoulder rounded forwards if your arms are bent like a row.

    try em with DB's... i like db shrugs a lot more. don't roll the shoulders.

    if you cant perform a shrug properly i'd hate to see your squat

    unless your doing power shrugs, hes right. imagine pulling your traps toward your ears. if thats too difficult to understand, its the same procedure when you give the "i dont know" shrug as a body gesture

    My brother started workin out with me today and I was tryin to get him to keep his arms straight and not roll his shoulders....he couldnt do it :dunno:

    I just try to bring my shoulders to my earlobes keeping my arms stiff/straight.

    I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that probably like 75% of the people at the gym do shrugs completely wrong. Your not alone. Just imagine elevating your entire shoulder girdle up and down.

    I don't even bother.

    I don't understand how someone could think rolling your shoulders is the correct way to do it though, it looks like it fuckin hurts.

    DB shrugs hit me way more directly. Rolling the shoulders works well.......for destroying your rotators.

    after reading kelsos shrug book, i have learned that theres a million and five ways to do shrugs.

    i'll scan some pages tommorrow to give some diagrams
