get the sb-800 straight off the bat. it may cost more, but it's the best on the market.

Maybe I am missing something, but why would you suggest the 800 right off the bat? Do you like the shitty dot matrix screen?

This way you only have to buy 1 or 2 flashes. It outputs a LOT of light, just check out that manly guide number. You know, for a hotshoe.

And, what's wrong with the screen? It tells you everything you need to know.

I have the SB600 and I would regret not getting the 800.

Everything I have read says that the sb600 is almost just as good as the 800, and is really all you need.

If you are limited on funds, SB600 is better than no flash ... you can always pick up the 800 later.

Besides the 600s are still great flashes.

I upgraded from the Sb600 to the Sb800 and I say its worth it just to spend the extra cash and buy the 800 right off the bat.

Why don't you like....try reading the manual and learning how to use your flash instead of wasting money on a light meter?
