    IS300 isn't that quick. From what I remember, they only run 0-60 in the 7 second range. So if you want something quick to race with, get the WRX, hands down. Also, where do you live? If it's wet or snows a lot, you will thank yourself for getting AWD insead of RWD.

    WRX unless you plan on doing some real mods to the IS300...

    IS300 + turbo is yum

    Lexus :drool: IS300 :drool: . But from your description of what you want, the WRX seems to be a better choice for you :cool: .

    Just curious, but why is the wrx not an option anymore? Also, I think you'll be hard pressed to find a decent mileage IS300 for around 20K.

    What about the SRT-4?

    I've had both...and I kept the WRX. Its overall more practical. The IS is underpowered, has crappy leather, and gets terrible gas mileage. On the upside, it has gobs of torque and it handles decently while maintaining a comfy ride.

    i have a jeep cherokee. if i got anything close to 20mpg, id be happy. I like the seats in the IS, the suede is pleasant.

    Is300 fo ride, quality comfort and overall pimpness. WRX is just a cheap go fast awd car. If you can get a IS300 why not spend more and get a STI.

    I test drove both, and I personally liked the IS300. It definitely isn't as fast, but the build quality and looks are much better in my opinion.

    I just got an 01 IS300 e-shift and I love it. I never drove a WRX, but I love the class of the Lexus and the sportiness/pepiness of the IS.

    I'm definately looking at doing some engine/suspension mods soon though. Not that the car needs them, but once you drive it you'll want to get as much performance out of it as possible.

    The IS is so, so very slow. For $24,000 you could get a used Evo, and if a STi is out the running then i'd go with the Evo, which I consider to be a marginally better looking (really both of them look horrendous but eh) and better performing car.
    I HAVE AWD I AM INVINCIBLE AHAHA SNOW I WILL DESTROY YOU YOU ARE WEAK LITTLE BITCH I WILL TAKE TURNS AT 700 MILES PER HOUR AND HAVE PERFECT TRACTION YES AWD MAKES EVERYTHING ALRIGHT!
    IS300 + turbo = no yum for transmission

    Why don't you consider a used sc300, or sc400. They're a bit faster than the IS, but the downside of the sc400 is it only comes in auto. The 1998-2000 sc400s run high 14s but i'm sure with a new torque converte, headers, and bfi you could easily gain some more speed out of it.

    Get the WRX, IS300 isn't worth it unless you can get a good a really good deal on it.

    WRX= 225HP (0-60 its around 5.7sec)
    IS300= 215hp (0-60 sec in around 7.2 sec)

    I never said any of that stuff. I never said AWD makes you invincible and changes the laws of physics. What I said is that AWD is easier to drive in wet/snow than RWD. I've had both, so I'm not talking out of my ass.
