    I just got an 03 WRX. I have about 5k to put into performance. Any suggestions? Im not lookin to put on any stupid body kit or ricer wing. I want the most bang for my buck. And I'm not expecting to make crazy power. I just want a tastefully done car.

    Cobb AccessPort, decatted uppipe, rear swaybar, single high-flow cat after the turbo. Don't get a BOV, they can lead to problems on the WRX, the stock recirculating valve is fine up to about 20 PSI. An intake won't make a big difference on a turbo car, but won't hurt, either.

    Word, spoilers don't help with downforce until around 100mph.

    Oh yeah, and go to Autozone and get the cobra head valvestem caps and washer nozzles. :rofl:

    KW Variant 3 coilovers -> $2000
    Racecomp Engineering Camber plates -> $399
    Group-N rear strut tops -> $210
    Cobb front sway bar -> $165.00
    Cobb rear sway bar -> $185.00
    Kartboy endlinks -> $100.00
    Cusco rear strut tower bar -> $162
    GT Spec front ladder bar -> $145
    Whiteline steering rack bushings -> $35

    Suspension and chassis total -> $3400

    eBay downpipe (no cat) -> $135
    Name brand cat-back -> ~$500
    Cobb AccessPort -> $600
    Professional dyno tune -> ~$300

    Engine and exhaust total -> $1535

    I didn't include expendable items. At some point you might want to spend another $600 for some Rotas or take-off OEM STi BBS wheels and put some sticky rubber on them. With all this stuff your car will be an absolute blast to drive.

    most of that is simple stuff u can do alone, or if u get a buddy to help you could bang that out in a couple days..

    or have a garage day and have mad people come over supply beer n pizza and you'll be good. lol

    You're out of your mind. There's nothing on that list that's beyond the skill of anybody with a basic tool set.

    Also, I forgot one thing... since it's a WRX and not an STi you'll want to throw an up pipe on the list. Spend a weeeee bit less on the cat-back exhaust and you won't go over budget.

    The only thing I didn't include was shipping costs, which will definitely put you a few hundred over budget. But you'll have an incredible handling car that has something in the area of 280-300 bhp. All I'd add beyond that is a big brake kit of some kind and maybe a second set of wheels so you could put race tires on the stockers.

    I'd stop at that. Any faster and you'll be changing your front wheel bearings after every track day. If you try to push much more power you'll have some transmission reliability issues.

    i have cobb accessport flashed to stage 2 and turboxs stealthback exhaust(catless down pipe, highflow mid car, mid pipe) and prodrive muffler. best investment i made on the car. cost about 850 used for all that stuff.

    def worth it for me. decent performance with off the shelf reliability.
