No knock house raid, wrong address. I don't know about you guys, but I would feel shitty getting a medal for that kind of mistake. :o

But but but, they performed well under fire.

    Surely, that means something.

Performing well under fire from an innocent citizen trying to protect his rights?

Give the citizen a medal from standing up for himself. Free shooting lessons might be a good idea too.

So if he hit an officer, would he be charged? THey were technically illegally breaking and entering.

I hate this "cops are above the law" bullshit that is fed to society.

If the homeowner had managed to critically injure or even killed one of the officers, you better believe there would have been some charges brought against him. I mean, what was the homeowner doing in his own house that was being raided anyways?! And with a gun, no less!

    So... Hypothetical situation.

Guy kills the 8 police who enter his house illegally (...whatever). Anyway, he kills all 8 men. Then what? Does he call the police?

depends on the dept. with us, we rechecked everything including address, owner, layout of house, friends, family, etc. to make sure we not only knew that it was the right address but what to expect inside once we entered.
"Trust no one" is a good motto because it's your ass on the line.

That would probably be the point at which no-knocks stop, when the cops realize that they can, and will, die if they keep doing this. If they break into the house in undercover clothing, the guy would probably call the cops not knowing what had happened. What'd be REALLY interesting is if the cops that responded are a different department, and didn't even know there was a raid there, so they treated it like a normal shooting for awhile :run:

Does SWAT even communicate their raids with the rest of the departments? I know that they can be a pretty private group, and the less that knows the better.
