I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on the "inside" of my wrist (for want of a better description) and I just had a question about it (no, I'm not asking if it hurts, I don't really care)
How well do tattoos "take" in this area? I know that towards my actual wrist on the inside of my forearm my skin is kinda translucent, in that you can see most of the veins pretty easily. Will it A) tattoo decently to start off with and B) last?

It will be fine...unless you freakishly shed your wrist skin alot.

as long as the artist doesn't tattoo over the joint, you're all good

You mean where the skin wrinkles when you bend your wrist or the actual bone joint? Why?

where the skin wrinkles...i imagine it wouldn't look as good, and since it's such a moveable part of the body, it could affect the healing process? :dunno:

    i'm just assuming

I've got both of them done - high up, close to my hands, 3 years ago and they still look good.

Thanks for the feedback guys, its sounding like a goer. I don't want it done right on the joint anyways, because I want to be able to cover it up with an (albeit large) watch if the need arises in the future.

No probs out of mine. Eventhough the very end of my wrist, where it meets my hand, was the worst pain I've ever felt.

Don't get anything small. Because of all the veins down there, smaller tattoos can bleed and blur after a couple of years. Make sure anything you get has big defined lines.

    hurts like a bitch, btw
i had to get the blue recolored on one wrist a few times on the outside, under part of the arm. My right arm is sleeved, and that same part of my wrist has no issues at all. Movement will blur over time tho, i have one of my oldest tattoos inside, right wrist, and it has started to blur.

Dont worry man, I have both my forearms done to my wrist and they have both taken really well and it caused no problems.

They are easy to cover up with long sleeve shirts aswell. Luckily - cause i work in a library.
