My 92 wrangler yj has been sitting for a while and when I tried to start it the other day nothing happened. It doesn't tryto turn over at all and the headlights won'twork. It runs fine once I jump it. After it's been jumped and I try to turn it back on nothing happens. To jump it again afterwards I don't even need to start the other car, the charge from the battery alone is enough. I bought a new battery and no luck. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.

I'd say put a new alternator in as well as new battery.

Sounds like the starter solenoid to me. If its the alternator it should still start after being jumped or replaced with a new battery.

It will start with the slightest spark from a jump. New battery was put in before trying.

Best advice I can give so you do not spend uneeded money is to have the alternator and starter tested.
