I remember buying a 5 lb tub a few months ago for 29.99?

    Now it's 10 dollars more?

Did I buy it on some special offer or did whey just go through the roof?

price on whey has gone up significantly (fuel, feed, milk costs), if it was only a couple months ago it must have been a special.

welcome to the new world! on the flip side ON is so expensive now people have reason to try better proteins. They've lost a lot of business since.

They haven't lost anything. All proteins went up in cost, from isolate to concentrate. The isolate we were making went up 50% in raw material cost, which is why we stopped making it.

10lb has lasted me maybe two months so far and I think i have 2-3lbs left.... 75 bucks every 2.5 months isn't very much. I'll keep buying ON. That's less than a dollar a day if I keep taking in my current amount (3-4 scoops daily, 6 days a week)

i came across some imitation whey by Detour for $12. Had like two carbs per scoop, and only about 100 calories. I didn't know if I should buy whey b/c I'm cutting right now even though I'm lifting 5 times a week. Whats the best supplement for this scenario?

none! a friend of mine owns 2 supplement stores in houston. Both stores have seen sharp declines on ON Whey sales after the increase. He was actually kinda happy about it because he hates dealing with them. It was his top selling protein .. but it might just be a local thing.

Personally I switched from ON after the increase.. the price difference between what i pay for 10lbs of ON whey in relation to egg protein + whey is so small now that it is hardly worth paying for ON.

so which one do you use?

most of these proteins have pretty high cholesterol and sat fat while ON was pretty decent on those.

    link?
