would you say your ears adapt to sound quality?

we all know ears adjust to volume levels but when you go between systems would you say your ears adjust and you get used to the quality of sound? this could also be applied to how people may tire of a system and wish for something better although initially it sounded superb to them

Yes, absolutely. This is what I believe people are hearing when they "burn-in" an amp for example. I don't believe there is actual audible difference, but simply a psychological change. So, technically your ears don't adapt, but your brain does.
