For those who don't know, it has a Big Block 502 CI with over 500hp.

There is one locally. I think the guy is quite mad, but to each his own. I wouldn't mind the trike.

He claims it will go as fast as a Bugatti Veyron. :eek4:

Any of the modern liter bikes will smash the 502 Hoss in both acceleration and top speed.

I kinda doubt that... I mean yeah, the Hoss is a LOT heavier (including rider on each what... double?) and has a lot more drag, but it's also got boatloads more torque and triple the power.

I'm sure the Boss Hoss would do a lot better with a tire that could actually grip... not that one exists most likely.

edit: also, lol @ corrected. what did they actually run?

They probably ran both directions and averaged.

And no I wouldn't touch that thing, I'd get my ass handed to me by cheap Chinese scooters in the twisties and look like a chrome monkey in the process. F-that.

I'm sure it will easily break 200 mph, but I don't think it would top a Veyron.

Doubt all you want. It was proven. A ZX-12 handed them their ass on their own turf with their own company rider on board.

As for easily breaking 200 mph? Not even close. The Busa's problem with hitting 200 its first year out wasn't for lack of horsepower, it was for lack of aerodynamics. For those that don't know, the Busa is one of the most aerodynamic bikes made and it still can't hit 200. With double the horsepower it still doesn't dive much past the 225 mph mark.

No, I guess I could do a bunch of searching until I can find the board it occured on.

The owner of Boss Hoss motorcycles stated on a TV show (TNN or whatever channel used to have the power block of shows) that his bike was the fastest production bike made. A private owner from a motorcycle board challenged him. It took several months but he finally agreed to meet.

They brought a 350 and a 502 version and their own rider. Pics and video was taken and they did everything from launches to 50+ mph roll-ons. The ZX-12 handed him his ass on every run.

The owner finally ceded and admitted that he was wrong. However, later when interviewed by Barnett's magazine he stated that the ZX-12 was heavily modified (it had a pipe) and that it was close (or may have even stated he won a couple runs) even though he was caught on tape admitting that he was beat.

This happened a few years ago.

All that being said, the numbers speak for themselves. Busa, ZZR-14, ZX-10s, R1s etc are all faster in the quarter mile (un corrected) and top speed is higher as well.

Busa will go 200mph with a few mods easily, so will the ZX-14.
The gentlemen's agreement is 189 among the Jap4 companies but it doesn't include the Italian companies. The MV Agusta F4 tops at 193 stock, 200+ regeared.

Actually its 186. That being said, the Busa did 193 or 4 its first year out un restricted.

200 easily is a bit too much to say. Its not really that easy. As I said before, once you hit those speeds its a matter of dirty aerodynamics more than power.

200 is very easy, especially if you are running a racebike, my old Ducati 750 trackbike would hit 200 after it was reworked.
My 1985 FJ1100 hit 212 after it was reworked (and also earned me a trip down to the police station for that stunt)

Aerodynamics aren't what holds them from topping the 200 mph mark but once you get into that range, it does start having an effect. I wouldn't recommend sticking your head up to see the pretty sights. :big grin:

radar guns. one on the track. and one held by the county mounty that I didn't see as I blew by him. :mamoru:

The ducati was basically a rebuilt ducati factory works bike that I spent way too much for and even more rebuilding it and was waaaaaay over my skill level.

the FJ was my touring bike that threw a rod after many miles so I had the motor rebuilt and bored/stroked and tossed on lower gearing for more top end. Buddies and I had some hairbrained idea in college that we would make it to the salt flats. pathetic starting off but it was all top end. We had to lower suspension a few inches but other than that, it was stock bodywork and suspension settings. pretty smooth actually.
And looking back I am amazed that neither of them killed me. the Ducati was just nasty, the FJ was a missile and the common factor was a nutjob riding them. :big grin:
