If you could legally buy and register any modern firearm.

i might in the current climate, but it is both wrong and arguably illegal to be forced to do so.

$2000 per gun? Or you pay it once and it's good for life?
Per gun, no. For life, possibly, but I'd be pretty pissed off, because that is really fucking unfair, and obviously trying to discourage people from getting guns.

2k per gun or 2k once for as many guns as you like?

2k once is cool, but if it was for EVERY GUN I don't think anyone would own anything short of a full-auto setup, who the hell would pay 2k for a stamp and 169.99 for a 10/22? :dunno:

If it allowed for us to import and purchase *any* thing that we desire in the current climate... Maybe. I think that $2000 is a bit too stiff, especially if it was required for all purchases. Spending $200 on a used .30-30 to go hunting and having a $2000 tax stamp on it just wouldn't fly.

But, as others have said, if I had to pay $2000 one time, say for a "Civilian Firearms License" or such, yeah, I would do it.

Really though, I would rather all gunowners donate that $2000 to pro-2nd amendment organizations and get most of this ridiculous gun legislations removed (1989 import ban, 1986 registration, 1934 law requiring the whole tax stamp bit and all the others) and establish universal conceal/open carry laws.

If it was a one time deal, Then possibly but that is still a LOT of money.

If 'any modern firearm' includes full autos, then yes, I'd do it.

I'd pay a $2000 tax stamp to register a SAW and an M16 provided of course they would be post samples and not pre86 and therefore cheap.

i'd pay a $2000 ONE-TIME tax stamp if it allowed me infinite future tax-stamp-free purchases and registrations of any and all firearms and "destructive devices", including machine guns, suppressors, AOW's (those are only $5 now anyways), etc.

    Good taste... :eek3:

    I'd take SR25, specifically mk11 mod 0.

    + 2 x MP7 sidearm + CQB
