There as a thread on the main forum yesterday.

someone saw a domestic dispute in public, guy was assaulting his wife/g/f.

Now, would you get involved? even if you are armed it is a horrible situation. If you are forced to use your weapon, knowing most states, you would end up in jail.

my contention was, you call the police and let them deal with it. You attempt to get as many details as yo upossibly can so they can handle it. Safer for you as well as the other party.

Now, if this was someone i knew, it would be a differnet situation.

plus, some guy willing to assault a woman in public clearly has issues, so you don't know what they are willing to do.

It would depend on the situation. If I saw a guy beating the shit out of his woman in public then I wouldn't hesitate to jump in. If it was just a screaming match with a little physical contact then I wouldn't. If it was some chick beating on a guy I'd probably sit back and laugh.

Only if the woman started beating the man.

If I saw some guy beating the crap out of a woman I'd be compelled to get involved. Maybe not with a firearm, but I wouldn't be able to sit back and watch some lady get beat.

I agree. I couldn't stand by and watch a woman get beat up.

I would first call the police then possibly try to restrain him. However, you'd never know if he is carrying a knife or a gun...

I dont think it'd be worth it to shoot him though.

Try to get his attention/break it up w/o getting physically involved. If he turns his aggression towards me, then things get confused(edit: complitcated is better than confused). I would call 911 if it was practical. (timing)

If they were just yelling and no one was getting hurt, I'd just call 911. If it looked like someone was getting hurt, I'd probably ask if she wanted help, and try to assist.

Most cops die while responding to domestic violence calls..

Want to know the kicker.. It's the female that normally kills the cop after he tried to subdue/arrest the male. . . .

I would not get involved. I watched my friend get involved with a DD at the beach the guy swung at him he dodge tackled and attempted to restrain the guy the chic went balistic and scratched the liveing hell out of his face. Better to just watch and make sure it dosnt get deadly.

That is what i hear, that those are some of the most sketchy situations to get into.

Women being abused get very defensive of their mate when their mate is under assault.

the way i look at it: more than likey the woman has been in this abusive relationship for a very long time, she has had plenty of chances to get out. she hasn't, thus her problem.

:werd: unless someones life is in immediate danger I'm not getting involved.

  21. Sometimes in life a woman just needs a good beating, this is where we get the "rule of thumb" quote. ;)

although i would probably feel like a piece of shit for it, I would probably get the phone out, but stay uninvolved. if i have to shoot someone, I will probably go to court for a questionable shooting. that will probably cost me $10-$20k. Highly doubtful that whoever I defend by shooting will give me even a damn dime for my defense.

I would call 911 and be a good witness and get involved only if there was a clear and present danger to someones life.

Exactly why I wouldnt get involved. I've heard of someone intervening in a domestic disturbance and was stabbed by the woman he was trying to help.
