I'm thinking of getting something framed to put up in the living room. Although I'm not a good photographer I thought I'd put a shot of my own up and find this to be my best candidate.

My question to you OTAP is if you saw this canvas print hanging up on someone's wall would your impressions be? Bland? Boring?

does the picture look good to you? that's all that matters.

i'd agree with girth about a diff background. the bird would be an easy extract to put against a diff background.

if you love the picture and think it's print worthy, then it is. that's all there is to it

the bird is beautiful, but his feathers are cut off on all 4 sides and the background is blah, so I dont know that it is "poster worthy", but I have had wosre printed on canvas (thanks Jared) - all that really matters is what you think - is it something you want on your wall

there isn't enough separation and I think from afar, it won't translate. Plus, the bird is cut off...

    personally, i'd try again.

Yes I was thinking of hanging it on a wall downstairs. The feathers aren't as clipped when I don't rotate the image to get an even background so I guess if I was able to replace the background with something else I wouldn't have to clip so much :dunno:

sick capture, is that close to a full-frame crop?
I'd like to see what it'd look like if the bird is carefully clipped out and put on a simple white background.

I like it and if you took it and like it you should frame and hang it.

Ehhh. I'd personally say no, but if it has meaning to you, then go for it.

Is this something you can reshoot in the future?

If you remove the girl, this is something I'd print if the picture had special meaning to me. :dunno:
